WPX Energy searches across the US for lucrative hydrocarbon assets. The oil and gas exploration, production, and marketing company owns producing oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (NGL) properties in the Rocky Mountains, North Dakota, and Pennsylvania. WPX (a spin off from  The Williams Companies) also has operations in Wyoming, New Mexico, and Colorado. With total proved reserves of 583 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2015, the company is focusing on acquiring and developing large, continuous blocks of land to build its acreage position and achieve economies of scale.
