Refining giant PBF Energy spun off PBF Logistics in 2014 as a master limited partnership to own or lease, operate, develop, and acquire crude oil and refined petroleum products terminals, pipelines, storage facilities, and related logistics assets. The company handles these assets in support of PBF Energy's three refineries in Toledo, Ohio, Delaware City, Delaware, and Paulsboro, New Jersey. Its initial assets  are integral components of the crude oil delivery operations at its parent's refineries. PBF Logistics plans to generate revenues by charging fees for receiving, handling and transferring crude oil via long-term, fee-based commercial agreements with subsidiaries of PBF Energy.
