Weeks Marine doesn't drag its feet when it comes to dredging. The company is one of the largest providers of dredging services in the Gulf of Mexico, where a majority of all US dredging occurs. (Dredging involves the moving of sand and sediment to maintain, and often deepen, navigation channels at shipping ports.) One of Weeks Marine's main clients is the US Army Corps of Engineers, for whom it has done dredging work on many projects. The family-owned company also performs construction and demolition of bridges, piers, jetties, pipelines, and offshore platforms throughout North and South America. It is also one of the largest stevedoring (cargo handling) companies on the US's East Coast.
