It's not a bad thing when Vaisala is under the weather. The company makes instruments used to measure environmental conditions such as temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and dew point. Vaisala's other products can be used to detect hurricanes, wind shear, surface wind, radioactivity, carbon dioxide, and ammonia. In addition to national weather information and forecasting organizations, Vaisala instruments are used by customers whose operations are affected by the weather and those who work in a controlled environment. With about 30 offices around the world, the majority of the company's sales come from operations outside of Finland.
