United States Cellular takes calls from sea to shining sea. Doing business as U.S. Cellular, the company provides wireless phone service to about 5 million customers in about two dozen states in the US, largely in the Midwest and the South. Its pre- and post-paid products and services -- marketed directly, through the Internet, and from about 270 retail stores -- include mobile messaging, prepaid calling, international long distance, mobile Internet, and directory assistance. U.S. Cellular service is also sold through contracts with resellers. The company offers phones from HTC, LG Electronics, BlackBerry, and Samsung Electronics.
