With a single-minded focus on hydrocarbons, Unit conducts onshore drilling of oil and natural gas wells for customers in the Gulf Coast, Midcontinent, and Rocky Mountain regions of the US. Through Unit Drilling, it has a drilling fleet of almost 90 rigs. The company owns stakes in more than 8,871 wells. Unit also has upstream and midstream businesses. Unit Petroleum explores for and produces oil and gas in the Anadarko and Arkoma basins of Oklahoma and Texas. In 2014 it reported proved reserves of 179 million barrels of oil equivalent (a 17% increase over the previous year). Its Superior Pipeline subsidiary buys, sells, gathers, processes, and treats natural gas.
