In a home construction market that's been trying of late, TRI Pointe Group believes it's pointing the way to a successful future. The company designs and constructs single-family homes in urban areas of California, singling out communities with growing populations and economies. TRI Pointe was founded in 2009, and the following year it began a partnership with Starwood Capital Group Global to fund land acquisition. There are 13 sites in operation with nearly 700 lots in varying stages of development; home prices range between $300,000 and $1.5 million for residences between 1,250 and 4,300 sq. ft. TRI Pointe Homes went public in early 2013 with an offering worth $232.7 million.
