One of the largest steelmakers in the US, TimkenSteel makes special bar quality (SBQ) steel large bars (6-inch diameter and greater), seamless mechanical tubing, and precision steel components. The company maintains an annual melt capacity of approximately 2 million tons. In addition, TimkenSteel offers machining and thermal treatment services and manages raw material recycling programs. Its manufacturing locations reside in Akron, Canton and Eaton, Ohio; Columbus, North Carolina; and Houston. To serve customers around the world, it has warehouses in China, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, the UK, and the US. The company was formed in 2014 when it was spun off from bearings maker Timken.
