The Doctors Company takes care of its own. The company, owned by physicians and operating through nine subsidiaries, markets and manages liability insurance for medical malpractice. Representing about 250,000 doctors nationwide and 71,000 members, The Doctors Company is the largest physician and surgeon medical liability carrier in the country. It provides protection and risk management for sole practitioners, doctors groups, and physicians working in clinics, hospitals, and managed care organizations. The Doctors Company also oversees DOCPAC, a political action committee advocating medical liability reform in nine states, as well as at the federal level.
