Suzano is the suzerain (super power) of Latin American paperboard production. The company is also one the world's largest manufacturers and exporters of eucalyptus pulp. It churns out woodfree printing and writing paper, coated and uncoated, including paper using ECF (elemental chlorine free) pulp. Five facilities in Bahia, and São Paulo, Brazil, drive production; paper and paperboard capacity reaches 1.1 million tons per year, and pulp, approximately 2.9 million tons. Operations are also fueled through development and sale of 100% renewable eucalyptus forests. Since its beginnings in 1924, Suzano has been controlled by the Feffer family, which has a long record of entrepreneurship in the pulp and paper market.
