Strategic Hotels & Resorts (SHR) is busy strategizing when it comes to hospitality. The self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust (REIT), which is traded under the symbol BEE, owns or has interests in more than 15 upscale and luxury hotels (some 8,200 rooms) in the US. It also has interests in two Marriott hotels in Europe and owns the Four Seasons Punta Mita resort in Mexico. In addition, SHR owns land for development, which is adjacent to existing hotel resorts. Affiliated brands include Four Seasons, Hyatt, InterContinental, and Marriott. SHR was acquired by Blackstone in 2015 for $3.93 billion.
