When you take one company's energy holdings and splinter them, you get Spectra Energy Partners. Formed by Spectra Energy out of the former natural gas holdings of Duke Energy, the company is a natural gas pipeline and storage facility operator. Its assets include a liquefied natural gas storage location in Tennessee, 50% of Market Hub (two natural gas storage facilities in Texas and Louisiana), and 49% of Gulfstream Natural Gas System. All told, Spectra Energy Partners has 3,200 miles of natural gas transmission and gathering pipelines capable of moving about 3.6 billion cu. ft. per day. It also has 57 billion cu. ft. of gas storage capacity.
