The sunny southwestern US is where Southwest Gas does its business. The largest gas supplier in Arizona and Nevada, it provides natural gas to 1.96 million customers in the two states, as well as in portions of California. Southwest Gas acquires its natural gas from 46 suppliers and pumps it through distribution mains. It also owns a transmission pipeline that supplies the Las Vegas area, and affiliate Paiute Pipeline transports gas from the Idaho-Nevada border to Reno and Lake Tahoe. Another Southwest Gas unit, NPL Construction, is an underground piping contractor that serves gas distributors. Its construction holding company Centuri, led by NPL Construction, serves more than 100 major customers a year.
