Southcross Energy Partners, L.p.
Southcross Energy Partners transports natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs) across the southern US. The company operates about 2,500 miles of intrastate pipeline in Alabama, Mississippi, and South Texas. More than half of its pipeline mileage is located in Texas, where it also has two gas processing plants that can process 185 million cu. ft. per day, two treating plants, and one fractionator. Top customers Formosa Hydrocarbons (a subsidiary of Formosa Plastics) and Sherwin Alumina together account for about 35% of sales. Southcross Energy formed in 2009 after it bought the Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas pipeline from Crosstex for $220 million. It went public in late 2012, raising about $170 million.
