South Jersey Industries (SJI) is Atlantic City's answer to cold casino nights. In 2014 its main subsidiary, South Jersey Gas (SJG), provided natural gas to 342,155 residents, 24,253 commercial customers, and 446 industrial customers in southern New Jersey, including Atlantic City. The utility has more than 6,000 miles of transmission and distribution mains; it also sells and transports wholesale gas. SJI's deregulated retail supplier, South Jersey Energy (SJE), provides retail gas, electricity, and energy management services. Its South Jersey Resources (SJR) unit is a wholesale gas marketer and services provider in the Southeast US. Subsidiary Marina Energy develops and operates on-site energy projects.
