Sony Mobile Communications makes and markets the Xperia line of smartphones and tablets based on  Google's Android mobile operating system and related services and applications. The wireless products are sold throughout the world. Xperia users can have access to video, streaming music, and play games from Sony's PlayStation Mobile. The company sell several models of phones which include the Z and X series. Formerly known as Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, Sony bought out Ericsson's 50% stake in the joint venture for about €1 billion in 2012, at which point the business was renamed Sony Mobile Communications.
