SOFTBANK Corp. is one of the leading wireless carriers in Japan where industry stalwarts NTT DoCoMo and KDDI preside in the mobile space. The mobile communications company provides wireless voice, data, and Internet services under the White and S! brands to about 37 million subscribers throughout the island nation. It also serves about 16 million customers with wireless Internet connections. SOFTBANK MOBILE distributes wireless handsets and accessories made by a range of mobile device manufacturers including Nokia, Panasonic, and Toshiba. The company is a subsidiary of investment firm SOFTBANK GROUP which owns stakes in about 60 companies. The mobile unit changed its name to SOFTBANK CORP from SOFTBANK MOBILE in 2015.
