Shorenstein shores up commercial real estate in major cities in the US. One of the oldest and largest private real estate firms in the US, the company manages a series of closed-end funds that make investments related to high-quality office properties, including direct interests, preferred equity, joint ventures, and mezzanine loans; these funds have acquired and developed more than 42 million sq. ft. of office space. Shorenstein's current portfolio includes equity and debt investments in more than 40 properties totalling more than 23 million sq. ft.; nearly half of them are in California, but the company also has investments in Houston; New York; Seattle; Washington, DC; and other large cities.
