Building an ocean empire is the name of the game for Seacastle. The holding company operates through three units: Seacastle Ships (containership chartering), SeaCube Container Leasing (refrigerated and dry container leasing), and TRAC Intermodal (intermodal chassis leasing). Intermodal freight customers include Mediterranean Shipping Company, Maersk Line, BNSF, Schneider, and Pacer. Seacastle operates from more than 30 offices in nine countries. The company is controlled by an affiliate of private-equity and hedge fund giant Fortress Investment Group.
