Sabra Health Care REIT doesn't mind a little healthy competition in the real estate sector. The company invests in income-producing health care facilities in the US. The REIT's investment portfolio includes about 180 properties, most of which are skilled nursing/post-acute centers. It also invests in assisted living and independent living facilities, and hospitals. Sabra's facilities house more than 18,300 beds and are located in 35-plus states. Substantially all of the properties are leased to and operated by subsidiaries of Sun Healthcare Group, which spun off its real estate assets to form Sabra Health Care REIT in 2010.
