Its flagship VanishPoint syringe retracts after injection, reducing the risk of both syringe reuse and accidental needlesticks (both are means of transmitting HIV and other infectious diseases). Retractable also makes blood collection needles and IV catheters using the VanishPoint technology, which was invented by Thomas Shaw, the company's founder, CEO, and majority owner. The firm sells to hospitals and other care providers in the US and abroad, both directly and through distributors.
