Resource Capital Corp.
Resource Capital is looking to pump some capital into real estate resources. The real estate investment trust (REIT) was launched in 2005 and invests in commercial real estate debt and other real estate-related assets, including first mortgage loans, mezzanine debt, and commercial and residential mortgage-backed securities. To a lesser extent, the REIT invests in commercial finance assets, such as syndicated bank loans and equipment leases. Bank loans account for about half of the REIT's portfolio, after it disposed of its risky residential mortgage backed securities (RMBS) investments. The firm's investments are managed by Resource Capital Manager, a subsidiary of Resource America.
