Red Lion Hotels (formerly WestCoast Hospitality) wants to be the leader of the pack when it comes to running hotels. The company has 55 hotels under the Red Lion brand in ten US states and one Canadian province. Red Lion owns and leases about 35 of its hotels and franchises the rest. Hotels account for the majority of the company's business. Choosing not to live by beds alone, Red Lion operates an entertainment segment that promotes and presents entertainment options such as Broadway-style shows, and includes TicketsWest.com, a ticketing service for hotel guests. In addition, it owns a retail mall in Montana, which is attached to one of its hotels, and has other miscellaneous real estate investments.
