Rand Logistics, Inc.
Rand Logistics hauls dry bulk cargo across the Great Lakes, calling on ports in the US and Canada. Through subsidiaries Lower Lakes Towing, Lower Lakes Transportation, and Grand River Navigation, the company operates a fleet of more than a dozen vessels, consisting mainly of self-unloading bulk carriers. (Self-unloading vessels don't require land-based assistance, so they can arrive at a dock and unload any time.) Conventional bulk carriers and an integrated tug/barge unit make up the rest of Rand Logistics' fleet. Cargo carried by the company includes construction aggregates, coal, grain, iron ore, and salt.
