Quorum Health Corporation
Quorum Health Corporation oversees a network of nearly 40 rural hospitals in about 15 states across the US. Its facilities, which house approximately 3,600 licensed beds, are often the sole provider of acute hospital health care in their markets (which are typically smaller cities and towns). Its largest market is Illinois, where it operates nine hospitals and regional medical centers. QHC doesn't operate the hospitals but rather provides clinical and operational expertise to its holdings. Subsidiary Quorum Health Resources provides hospital management and consulting services to around 150 clients. QHC was spun off from leading hospital operator  Community Health Systems to become a publicly traded entity in 2016.
