QEP Resources has the resources to conduct exploration and production, gas gathering, processing, and storage, and energy trading operations in the Northern Region (primarily the Rockies and the Williston Basin) and the Southern Region (primarily Texas and Louisiana) of the US. Its QEP Energy unit acquires and develops gas and oil properties, generates and drills prospects, and develops gas reserves (78% in the Northern Region). In 2015 it reported proved reserves of 3.6 trillion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent. QEP Marketing markets equity and third-party gas and oil, owns and operates an underground gas storage reservoir, and provides risk-management services.
