Polaris Venture Partners is a venture capital and private equity firm that invests in companies in all lifecycle stages, mostly in the information technology, healthcare, life sciences, and consumer sectors. Taking either minority or majority stakes, Polaris typically invests between $10 million and $60 million in companies with an EBITDA of no more than $25 million. Most of its portfolio companies are based in the US, but Polaris also selectively invests in companies based in Europe and Asia. The firm has more than $3 billion in assets under management and investments in some 90 companies, including Akamai Technologies and Centra Software. Founded in 1996, it has offices in Boston and Seattle.
