Pioneer Energy Services (formerly Pioneer Drilling) digs down deep to make money from beneath the land where Texas pioneers used to roam, as well as in other locations. The company provides contract drilling services primarily to oil and gas companies in Texas, and to a lesser degree in the Rockies and in Colombia. Pioneer Energy Services owns 64 land drilling rigs that can reach depths of 8,000-18,000 feet. In addition, the company's Pioneer Production Services Division provides workover rig services, wireline services, and fishing and rental services to US-based oil and gas producers.
