Parker Drilling parks its oil rigs off the beaten path. Its helicopter-transportable rigs allow drillers to work in otherwise inaccessible desert, mountain, and remote jungle locations. Its barge rigs allow the company to drill in transition zones (such as bays and marshes). Parker Drilling owns 22 international land rigs and 18 US-based barge drilling rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and two land rigs in Alaska. Subsidiary Quail Tools provides rental tools for oil and gas drilling and workover activities, with operations in the Gulf Coast, the Rocky Mountains, and West Texas regions. Parker Drilling also has project management and drilling rig construction units.
