Oasis Petroleum is combing the northern US for watering holes made of oil. The independent exploration and production company acquires and develops primarily oil and some gas resources in the Williston Basin of Montana and North Dakota, specifically in the Bakken and Three Forks formation. In 2013 Oasis reported estimated net proved reserves of 227.9 million barrels of oil equivalent and 515,314 net acres of land holdings. The company also reported an average daily production of more than 33,904 barrels of oil equivalent from 115 net producing wells. It sells most of its oil to marketing companies and Texon, Plains All American Pipeline, and Enserco Energy.
