Norway Bancorp offers banking services to Maine residents, whether or not they are of Norwegian descent. It is the holding company for Norway Savings Bank, which operates more than 20 branch offices in southern and western portions of the state. Founded in 1866, the community-oriented bank offers a variety of deposit products, such as checking and savings accounts,  retirement accounts, and CDs. It also offers investment management, estate planning, and trust services. Residential mortgages account for most of the company's loan portfolio; the bank also writes commercial real estate,  construction, consumer, and equipment and machinery loans. Mutual holding company Norway Bancorp, MHC, owns Norway Bancorp.
