New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance, or NYCM to its friends and policyholders, sells property/casualty insurance in upstate New York. With offices in Amsterdam, Edmeston, orchard park and Sherburne, the company specializes in personal auto coverage but also offers homeowners and umbrella coverage, policies for mobile homes, and commercial policies for small businesses. More than 1,000 independent agents sell the companies' products. Some 476,000 policyholders own the mutual firm. NYCM is managed by the fourth generation of the founding Robinson family.
