Natural gas is the main asset and product of New Jersey Resources (NJR). The company's New Jersey Natural Gas utility unit distributes gas to 512,000 residential and business customers in the state. Its 14,686 miles of gas mains handle distribution, transmission, and service, and two LNG plants supply peak demand. Nonregulated subsidiary NJR Energy Services (NJRES), which accounts for the bulk of NJR's sales, provides wholesale gas supply, transportation, and storage to customers from the Gulf Coast to New England. It also invests in energy-related ventures (pipelines and storage terminals, and other midstream assets).
