Neonode is trying to get in touch with the future of mobile devices. The company previously designed mobile phone handsets with digital music playback capability. Sales of its N2 device (which featured a camera with MP3, calendar, and address book applications) failed to materialize, so the company turned to touchscreen technology. In 2010 it debuted its zForce Pad, a touchscreen reference design. The company took its current form when SBE, a provider of network adapter cards, sold its embedded hardware business to One Stop Systems for $2.2 million in 2007; it then merged with Sweden-based Neonode and changed its name. Officers and directors of Neonode together own about 42% of the company.
