National HealthCare (NHC) provides long-term care to those who have had long-term lives. Through its subsidiaries, NHC manages some 75 skilled nursing homes in 10 states, mainly in the southeastern US. Of its facilities, the company owns or leases about 55 facilities and manages the other 20 for third-party organizations; together, its facilities house about 9,400 beds. In addition to its nursing homes, NHC manages more than 35 home health programs and about 25 independent and assisted-living facilities. The company provides a number of health services through its facilities, including hospice, rehabilitation, Alzheimer's care, and institutional pharmacy services.
