Global independent investment bank Moelis & Company provides strategic and financial advice to corporations, governments, and financial sponsors. It advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings and other corporate finance matters. With 15 offices around the world it has advised on more than $1 trillion of transactions, including four of largest global recapitalizations and restructurings in 2013. Moelis & Company was founded in 2007 by veteran investment banker Kenneth Moelis. It raised $162.5 million in a 2014 IPO, the bulk of which was used for one-time payments to the founder and his partners. Moelis retained 97% of the company's voting shares after the offering.
