MiTAC, founded in 1982, designs, makes, sells, and services consumer and enterprise electronics products for leading vendors such as SYNNEX and Dell. Distributed in more than 55 countries, products include desktop computers, servers, barebones workstations, handheld and in-car navigation and GPS devices, data storage systems, handheld computers, mobile entertainment devices, and wireless networking cards. Aside from its customary contract manufacturing services, MiTAC offers tooling, warehousing, and supply chain management services. It boasts assembly centers in Belgium, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, the UK, and the US. Taiwan accounts for more than half of sales; North America brings in another third.
