Despite the name, these chemicals find their way into products across all the Americas. Through its 102 production plants and 2 fluorspar mines, Mexichem makes such chemical building blocks as chlorine, caustic soda, polyvinyl, and hydrofluoric acid. Mexichem's chemical and petrochemical output find use in a range of consumer and industrial products, including soaps and detergents, as well as for use in water treatment and the manufacture of PVC (with applications in the construction industry). The company also mines and processes fluorspar, which is used in the production of steel, ceramics, glass, and cement. While focusing on North and Latin America, Mexichem also exports products to more than 50 countries.
