Intrepid Potash, Inc
Hungry plants turn to Intrepid Potash for their food supply. The mining company produces two potassium-containing minerals, potash and langbeinite, that are essential ingredients in plant and crop fertilizer. Intrepid culls these minerals from a handful mines in New Mexico and Utah, where it also operates production facilities. The company has the capacity to annually produce about 1.1 million tons of potash and 200,000 tons of langbeinite, and sells its products primarily in the US to the agricultural, industrial, and feed markets. It markets langbeinite under the brand Trio. Intrepid Potash is the largest producer of muriate of potash (potassium chloride) in the US, the second-largest consuming country of potash.
