Institutional Venture Partners
Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) has been making Silicon Valley verdant with cash for nearly three decades. The company, which closed its eleventh fund in 2007, has more than $2.2 billion of committed capital; it has owned stakes in more than 300 companies, more than 80 of which have gone public. IVP targets later-stage firms in the communications, wireless applications, Internet, and digital media industries. Portfolio companies include Dust Networks, Kayak Software Corporation, and Motion Computing. Venture capital industry pioneer Reid Dennis founded IVP in 1980.
