Imperial Oil, Canada's second-largest oil integrated company behind Suncor Energy, holds sway over a vast empire of oil and gas resources. Imperial is one of Canada's top natural gas producers, a leading refiner and marketer of petroleum products, and a major supplier of petrochemicals. It sells petroleum products, including gasoline, heating oil, and diesel fuel, under the Esso name and other brand names. The company reported proved reserves in 2013 of 3.6 billion barrels of oil-equivalent, including 62 million barrels of liquids, 678 billion cu. ft. of natural gas, 579 million barrels of synthetic oil, and 2.9 billion barrels of bitumen. Exxon Mobil owns about 70% of Imperial.
