Hyundai Engineering & Construction (HDEC) is one of South Korea's largest construction and civil engineering companies. The company provides services for a wide variety of projects, including harbors and terminals, bridges and highways, dams, nuclear and other power plants, petrochemical plants, commercial buildings, and high-rise apartments. The firm has built industrial, infrastructure, commercial, hospitality, and multifamily residential projects (under the Hillstate brand) in approximately 50 countries. HDEC was the former parent of Hyundai Group, Korea's largest chaebol (or conglomerate), which was broken up under government orders.
