Also known as Olympus Surgical Technologies America, the company makes medical instruments that improve visualization and reduce trauma to tissue during minimally invasive laparoscopic and endoscopic surgeries. It operates through three divisions: Urology and Gynecology, General Surgery, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat). Products range from Invisio digital camera systems to PK workstations used to precisely cut and coagulate tissue. A subsidiary of Olympus, Gyrus ACMI does most of its business in the US, where it maintains a majority of its manufacturing operations.
