Firestone Vineyard, Lp
Firestone Vineyard makes enough wine to tire you out. It produces chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, riesling, merlot, and syrah in the Santa Ynez Valley, which is located in California's Santa Barbara County. The grapes are grown on the winemaker's 480 acres and wine is bottled at an onsite vineyard. The winery was founded in 1972 by Brooks Firestone, grandson of Harvey Firestone -- yes, the same Harvey Firestone who founded Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. The Firestone family sold the company to the Foley Family Wines in 2007. The sale did not include the Curtis Winery, the Firestone Walker Brewing Company, or the Jarhead Red and Rock Hollow wine labels, all of which were retained by the Firestone family.
