Grupo Financiero Galicia S.A.
Grupo Financiero Galicia (GFG) is a financial services holding company with banking and insurance operations in Argentina. The company's largest asset is a 95% stake in Banco Galicia, which has more than 200 branches and is one of Argentina's top three private banks. GFG was formed in 1999 to expand the bank's other businesses, including insurance and credit cards, beyond the limits imposed by Argentine banking regulations. Non-banking businesses include the majority-owned Sudamericana Holding, which has insurance subsidiaries dealing in life, property, and other coverage. The Ayerza, Braun, and Escasany families control GFG.
