It distributes electricity and gas to 7.8 million customers in Illinois, Maryland, and Pennsylvania through subsidiaries Baltimore Gas and Electric, Commonwealth Edison and PECO Energy. Exelon Generation holds power assets of 32,741 MW (19,460 MW of which is nuclear). Exelon Power Team is a top wholesale energy marketer, and Exelon Energy markets retail power and offers other energy-related services. The company’s Constellation unit serves more than 2 million retail customers. In a major expansion, in 2016 Exelon acquired Pepco for $6.9 billion.
