Enova International, Inc.
When you don't even have the gas money to make it to the payday lender, you can still get a quick loan online (provided you paid the Internet bill) through Enova International. The holding company, a spinoff of pawn shop owner Cash America, is a new idea in alternative banking. It doesn't own any brick-and-mortar stores but offers short-term, unsecured loans online in the Australia, Canada, the UK, and the US. In the US, it operates as CashNetUSA in the 32 states that allow payday lenders. In the UK its Web presence is known as Pounds to Pocket and QuickQuid, and as DollarsDirect in Australia and Canada. Enova International went public in late 2014.
