EnergySolutions wants to solve the problem posed by what's left over after electricity has been generated from nuclear fuel. The environmental services company is the only publicly listed provider of nuclear waste management services, including nuclear facility decommissioning and decontamination (D&D), spent fuel handling, and waste disposal. It also offers operation of nuclear reactors, logistics, transportation, engineering, and in-plant support services. EnergySolutions derives most of its revenue from the United Kingdom Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, the US Department of Energy (DOE), and the US Department of Defense. In 2013 the company was acquired by a unit of Energy Capital Partners II.
