You can't judge a book by its cover, and you can't always guess a company's activities from its name. Elbit Imaging's primary operations are in real estate. The company develops, builds, manages, and sells mixed-use shopping and entertainment centers in Central and Eastern Europe and India through majority-owned subsidiary Plaza Centers N.V. It also manages hotels and has venture capital investments in apparel stores, such as Mango International, in major European cities. Additionally, Elbit makes medical devices and develops drug therapies through InSightec and Gamida Cell. Investment firm Europe-Israel controls 49% of the company.
