EV Energy Partners (the EV is from founding company EnerVest) is a natural gas and oil exploration and production company which operates in the Appalachian Basin, primarily in West Virginia and Ohio, as well as in Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Texas. In 2010 EV Energy Partners reported estimated proved reserves of 575 billion cu. ft. of natural gas, 12.9 million barrels of oil, and 27.5 million barrels of natural gas liquids. The company's base in the Appalachian Basin puts EV Energy Partners in close proximity to the nation's major consuming markets, allowing for stronger pricing power.
